NRE Customs is owned and operated by Nick Ernst. Nick’s journey began at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, where he studied machinery before discovering his true passion for woodworking and remodeling.

After relocating to Southeastern North Carolina, he started by helping neighbors with general home maintenance—a skillset that quickly evolved into specialized custom carpentry work. Over time, NRE Customs shifted its focus entirely to custom woodworking and remodeling, moving away from general home improvement to fully embrace the art of craftsmanship.

Every project at NRE Customs is completely custom—no pre-made cabinets or doors unless specifically requested. With a deep commitment to quality, creativity, and attention to detail, NRE Customs brings craftsmanship and care back into every corner of the home.

Behind the scenes, Nick’s fiancée Faith works part-time managing social media, the website, and design elements. The dream is for her to eventually join full time—handling the designs, paperwork, organization, estimates, and all the things Nick would rather stay out of (so he can keep doing what he loves most: carpentry). Together, they share a vision for growing NRE Customs into something lasting and family-built. Keeping quality and integrity the forefront of NRE Customs.
